On the other side of my window pane, etched with frost, the snow flakes silently fall as if I’m inside a magical snow globe. In February the days become longer, teasing with hints of sunshine while leaving us dreaming in quiet solitude of the warmer welcoming days of spring.
Winter mornings such as these leave my home still and quiet. While engrossed in the cadence of a wonderful book or the bliss of journally or of daily living rituals, moments of quietude refreshen our spirit and soothes our soul with each calming breath. I often gaze out my window as the light slowly envelopes the winter landscape.
Days seem to pass slowly, yet then a week has gone by and soon a month, making me aware that time is fleeting. Moment to moment living alone requires constant discipline, for being present is difficult at times. However, winter does offer us all a comforting respite to allow us to slow down somewhat and take stock of our lives.
At the end of this winter day, the evening sky has a distinct brightness from the snow gently falling as if it’s been sifted through alabaster clouds.
